Some people have talked about rotating Sirexes on this board, other than the single rotor unit in Hamilton, OH (which I read was a post-factory modification). If HOR did indeed make rotating models, I wonder why they would make that choice, and not install projectors.holler wrote:Yes you are correct. Seems HOR was trying to maximize on the small amount of sound that came out of the intake side.
H.O.R. definitely made the rotating dual projector models. There are photos in this threat with dual head rotating models, including an ad for them with rotators:BadgerSiren wrote: Some people have talked about rotating Sirexes on this board, other than the single rotor unit in Hamilton, OH (which I read was a post-factory modification). For non-rotating sirens, their output and coverage is exceptional. Although they aren't omnidirectional in the sense that say, a 2T22 is.
Imagine a rotating dual rotor Sirex with projectors. Talk about a powerful siren. Couldn't quite rival a P-50, but it might come close.
Thanks for that link. In regards to the projectors, what I meant was if the cone was mounted behind the rotor and encasing it, as is the case with most sirens. Essentially like a 50HP 550AT.uncommonsense wrote:
