I just spoke to someone at the Oak Ridge Lab, without going into a long explination those ACA Alertronic 6000-R that you found around Harriman are still being used by part of the Oak Ridge Lab.

I think at least two of the Whelens in Gatlinburg were destroyed in the recent wildfires. :(

From what I can tell, none of them were.

I was told by DJ226 that he believed that 2 were destroyed. I saw your reply on someone's comment that said all the sirens went off to warn of the fires. How did you find that out?

My initial assumption was that two of the four I've been able to find where burnt due to how close they were to the blaze. I would say all of them are probably gone going by some of the interactive maps online. The other two I found where right in areas that were burned deemed as "destroyed" by fire fighters and witnesses that were able to get back in town. One person said he seen the head of one on top of a burned car. We'll never know until someone takes pictures near the siren locations. Maybe Charlie Davidson or someone in the state could go down there, granted they can access the area, and take a look around to see what's left.

Here's my map overlaid with an early map of reported areas affected by the fire:

This site has an interactive map of most of the city that has more locations:

I know for sure that Hillbilly Golf is still there. I'll be down there in June, so I can check it all out then.

in the videos of people escaping, there were no sirens sounding. I asked if there were any sirens in the area and they said they weren't, and after this they are pushing to try and get warning sirens and R911.
