I though the Cyclone was the same as the P-50; Cyclone is omni-directional and has the chopper horizontal with no horns. How is one bigger than the other?

I just checked the siren manual section of board; the 2T22 & 3T22 are both 113db @100', while the STH-10 is 115 db @100'.

Don't know how much difference that would make in coverage area of these 2 sirens.

I am very familiar with the STH-10 as my former residence(Smyrna, GA) had a system of those sirens. Even though they were single tone the STH-10s had a nice sound. They had a great startup which caught one's attention and a LONG windddown time.

The STH-10 may be rated higher, but the 2/3T22 seems to pack more of a punch in my experience. I'm guessing it's due to the tone.

Agreed. 12-port sirens aren't my favorite, but STH-10s definitely sound much better than say, 2001s. The sound also seems to carry quite far for a 12-port as well.

That may be due to fact that STH-10 is a lower pitch than the 2001. The STH-10s sound is very distinctive; can't be confused with anything else.

They do sound the same pitch, they're both 12 ports. From what I understand, the 2001 will often sound lower (or higher) depending on charge in the battery.

There's a 2001 just down the street from where I work. I've heard it many times, along with couple of others in the city system.

That siren tends to sound like an overpowered fire engine siren.

An STH-10 runs around 675 hz, whereas a 2001-130 runs at 830 hz. They both have 12 ports, but one never exceeds 3450 RPM while the other screams at 4000+ RPM.

830 Hz??? I don't know if I've heard many 2001-130s ever sound that high. Maybe if the motor is running at its top capable speed. By and large, all the ones I've heard in person and online are between F#5 and G5, which is between 740 and 784 Hz. This one is almost exactly 740: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CikUb-hQ2AY

I know, of the three videos I posted, the STH is the only one rotating at 3540 RPM.

Should have added onto my original post: the 2001 will often sound lower (or higher) depending on the charge in the battery, which directly affects the motor's speed and thereby the pitch.
