It might even be a Model 550AT or even an older Model 300.

You're exactly correct. Although, some of the Model 500s did have slightly higher horsepower motors at various times, they were mostly five horsepower. That said, the Model 300 was a smaller version of the Model 500, but saw very limited production in the late 1940s, and maybe into the early 1950s. The siren did rotate or was stationary. However, with only a three horsepower motor, it was woefully underpowered to rotate the siren's projector. Therefore, they went to the more successful Model 500.

I have heard the foster siren, not even sure its a Federal, it goes up and down like 16 times and the pitch is similar to an STH-10.
