Also, if permitted I can take a little time to upgrade these forums to phpbb3 and integrate phpbb3 to a mediawiki installation. That way, it is than requiring all users to have an account on the forum to be able to login and make edits to the wiki pages.
Essentially a single sign on, which as well will kill off ALL abuse of the wiki pages.

Would be nice, and would work in theory, but IMO, would require some serious investments in time and community effort to get something workable, and that's discounting the effort required to mesh phpBB and MediaWiki, two very different packages. And that's
if there is a consensus on how such a wiki should be run...
Anything like this should be structurally separate to the forums, so if one goes down, it doesn't take the other with it.

Essentially what happens is registration is only permitted via the forums, that registration carries over to the wiki only. Users can't register to the wiki and than have a free ticket to the forum.
Pretty much, it is for security and preventing abuse.

I second the move for a Wiki! I have one on my website and it's been doing pretty good so far. Installation is quite easy and isn't hard at all.

There is an extension avaliable on the MediaWiki website to do just that.

Basically just reads phpBB's database and only lets phpBB users access the Wiki. You can even set certain groups that can and can't edit the Wiki. Pretty nifty if you ask me!

I sent some photos in about a month ago which haven't been added. Did I leave some information out?

Yah, I also sent some pictures a couple days ago. Is anything wrong? I'm starting to think Charlie is right about the wiki, then we wouldn't have to worry about delays in postings since we post them ourselves, causing a smoother flow of pictures added to the site. But either way as long as they are eventually added it works for me.

Anyone heard any updates on this. Is this site going to be a dead fish just like the previous siren archive. If so let me know so I will stop sending in pics.

Guess I should've read the updated comments before sending in a TON of pics (but still not even half of what I have) to the GMail address.

First before anyone gets upset over this, I want you to know that I don't mean to cause any trouble and I think you all will enjoy this. Since the old archive is closed to new pictures, and Adam's archive died I now have created the very first user-interactive siren archive! It was brought up on here in some comments in this topic that an interactive siren archive would be loved and used by many, so for awhile now it has been my secret project. To be able to edit, simply go to the "How To Join" section in the left panel. There you can learn how to register. After you register please read the "Rule" and "How To Post" sections. Then you will be able to use and post your own siren locations. A new feature that you didn't have on either of the old archives is SELF EDITING! You also are able to post links to videos and maps. You can go to interactivesirenarchive.johnsplanet.org/start to join. Let me know what you all think!
Thanks!
Josh S.

Is this like a photo sharing site kinda like flickr where it's just for sirens? I like it so far!
