I don't know what your budget is, but you may consider having it powder coated. I had my Thunderbolt 1003 done that way. The price was really reasonable. They usually handle all of the paint removal as well. I just took it a few pieces at a time as I was building it.

The build is done for now. I have a neighbor that knows a friend that has a welder in the back of his truck. We were going to weld the standpipe pieces together, then I'd figure out a way to get the head on the standpipe (probably via. crane). I'm still hunting for an AR timer and RCM.

I got my screen, and got it in without problems, surprisingly.

You can always assemble the rotator/chopper piece by piece onto the standpipe. That way you don't have to figure out how to lift something that heavy.
The heaviest/most awkward thing to deal with is the horn when putting it together piece by piece.

I may disassemble it. I have to get the mounting flange welded to the standpipe, though.

Your flange isn't threaded? I have always used threaded flanges and pipes.

The flange is one of those where you put the bolt in and screw a nut on it,

Yes, his has a normal threaded flange but the people that originally removed the siren cut off the pipe about a foot below the flange. I'm assuming he's talking about welding that piece of the upper pipe (with the inserted smaller pipe) to what's already sticking up on the blower frame.

For now, the build is on standby until I get some needed "hardware" and a single phase rotator motor from someone.

Just thought I'd give a little update. The siren is soon going to be a 1000B thanks to locating some parts and help.
