If I were looking for a single phase siren, I would look for a Model 5B.

Well, look what it did to me! I accidentally pinched my thumb while trying to open the junction box.

Also, I'm gonna be getting some stuff (housing support bar, some screws, housing ID tag, etc.) next Sunday.

There was a junkyard in our area that had a Model 7 & a Model 7T. They had no housing, But, it was very obvious that they could do great damage to one's fingers.

They didn't have housings, & I suspected the owner wanted an outrageous price, they were 3 phase, plus, I had no room to store them.

That Model 5 spins up pretty fast in that video. An recording of another Model 5T had a real slow wind up.

Oh jeez. You might want, in a few days, to see about lancing and draining that blister before the blood becomes a solid scab. I used to play trombone and occasionally would get my finger pinched in the slide with a similar result; if I didn't drain it while it was still a semi-liquid clot, the scab would be there under the surface for literally MONTHS, until either the outer layer wore away (which could take a year or more), or until I finally did something to remove the outermost layer of skin over the scab and peel it off the finger...

I should upload my video of me messing around with my Model 5 and having it cut all the way into the bone. That clang gets me every time.

Just the thought of the clang sends a chill up my spine. :shifty:

See this is why I can't have one of these sirens, I know not to stick my finger in it, but still I want to. Most likely I would. So of course I'd lose a finger if I had one.

Some of them are rusted in such a way that they are razor sharp too.....

I'm starting to paint the housing. Yes, it needs a lot of touchup....

Is that just primer or are you painting it white?

I'm painting it white. The housing was primed before I got it.
