You haven't tried to buy a model 2 lately have you? They don't show up that often.

I haven't... There is 1 model 2 disconnected in Washington. I assumed that other places may have had them. Federal Signal still sells them but for like... $2,000? And that's without the starter and controls and what not.

Welp, after forgetting the siren for 4 months, I have rebooted the project. I have found an RCM and all of the parts to make the chopper work (Single tone though using the Jonesboro Model 2 rotor I have) Looks like by year's end, I will have a fully functioning Thunderbolt 1000 head.

The paint on it is holding up, even though with the roughness of it, it looks like it took a detour through Cobb County sometime in it's life lol

Next year, I plan to get the blower and the head paired together, and maybe focus on finding a blower for it, or sell off the blower components (Except the cover and frame) and have an oversized Model 2.

On an unrelated note, it seems the older pictures went kaput basically. Oh well. I have a facebook album documenting the build from Day 1 back in 2013 here:

1, Whats wrong with the 1000? 2, Lol it isn't as loud as the model 2 without the blower. 3, why would you try to find a blower? You have one? 4, The pics don't work. 5, That's rad. Glad to hear it's going to work buddy!!!!! I am letting you know that even though it isn't as loud as the model 2 it's still pretty stinking loud.
