After about 4 months of waiting, I finally got my Allertor!!

Mon Apr 11, 2011 3:09 pm

Hi everyone! My fiancee and I left Minneapolis Saturday morning, got to Bismarck in the mid-afternoon and sold some bowling alley scoring electronics to a guy there (he paid for my fuel to and from, which made the trip a lot easier!), then continued about 70 miles north to Pick City to get the siren from the Pick City VFD. We stopped by the Garrison Dam (amazingly HUGE, by the way!), then hit the Riverdale High Lodge/Knights Bar and Grill in Riverdale (just a few minutes from Pick City) for the night.

Yesterday was a little (lot) less exciting, so I won't bore you with that! I'd just like to note that the trip went well, with no troubles of any kind!

Anyhow, I am so excited to finally have this Allertor 125!!! It's been in the "for sale/auction" section since last July, and I gained interest in December. Obviously I didn't want to potentially get caught in an upper-midwest snow storm, so we waited til the "above freezing" time of year to go get it, for safety's sake.

The siren is a 9/12 port, single phase 230v model. No controls were present, so I have to figure something out in order to run it. It's a capacitor start-and-run siren, so a controller is mandatory. Whether or not I am able to get it running, I am very proud to own it!! Here are some pics of it. More are to come.

Congrats on the allertor man! I've followed your restoration vids from the STH-10 and the 3T22, I'm sure there will be more vids coming now with this beast.

Nice pictures posing and riding the siren lol. We've all got to have those unusual pics with sirens....

Ok, that one is pretty normal, the standard "I gotta pose with my new toy" shot. I didn't ride my Tbolt though,

Congrats again on the Allertor man!

Thanks a lot for following my videos!!!! I appreciate it!! I've already shot 2 videos of the Allertor. I didn't get a chance this morning to put them up though (had to go to work). Yeah, I definitely had to pose with this one. It's a rare sight to see an Allertor on the ground, and I don't think most poeple realize how HUGE these really are!!! I know I wasn't expecting it to be that big!

Thank you!!! Yeah, I am probably one of the first ones to "ride" an Allertor! Hahaha! (Actually, my fiancee hopped on before I did. I'll see if she'll let me put that picture up! )
