BROKEN ARROW -- Northeastern State University's Broken Arrow campus soon will have a new tornado siren, thanks to a $17,000 donation from ConocoPhillips.

"We thank ConocoPhillips for its support of our community,? said City Manager Jim Twombly. "The tornado siren at NSU could mean the difference between life and death someday.?

ConocoPhillips is building a pipeline across the southern part of Broken Arrow and, as part of its commitment to the area, the company presented the city with a check for use in conjunction with public safety.

Most likely Whelen, as the city itself has Whelens.
