I have to go with D. I prefer chopper sirens over speaker sirens, but I don't despise them. Depending on the company and model, I think speaker sirens can work really well.

D. I really like choppers, but you can do a lot more things with seakers, like vioce announcements. So both are good depending on what you need.

I agree. D. But with the voice announcement, if your indoors and it starts speaking take cover, you have to walk out side to understand that it is saying take cover... It everybody knew Hi Low or Alert or Attack and what they mean, then there wouldn't be confusion.

"Outdoor Warning Sirens" are ment to be herd outdoors, That is why you see them near parks and places where they do things outdoors. That is why EMAs say to get weather radios.

Both are good at what they're suppose to do, but mechanical sirens are less prone to failure than speaker sirens, as speakers tend to blow if pushed too far, and with lower frequencies there's more limitations on power. One can argue that voice is a speaker siren's strong point over a mechanical one's, but you really have to stand close to one to understand it good enough, and if bad weather's rolling in, chances are the conditions won't be right for the voice to get a clear message across.

Both; as long as the product is of good quality. There are some bad quality mechanical and electronic sirens out there, but a couple bad apples shouldn't ruin both bushels.

I personally lean more towards motor driven sirens over electronic sirens. In my opinion I think chopper sirens produce a better sound then electronic sirens do. I'm just not fond of them, but I do like the early electronic sirens like those Fyr-Fyter sirens.

To be completely honest in my opinion. I think Whelen has the absolute best lineup of sirens that have ever been made.

From the Whelen's I've seen, I would have to disagree, but that's my opinion. I don't really like how they go one way, then stop and turn are, etc. It just doesn't seem efficient or worth it when you can go all the way around.
