What sirens are these?

Mon Jul 09, 2012 2:56 am

NOT THE THUNDERBOLT

The grey one is currently not being used by the city of Prinsburg, maybe I have another siren to try for??

The yellow one is the town's current siren. I was thinking that is was an ACA S-10 but upon further investigation I'm not so sure.

There's a Mystery Sirens thread where you can post your mystery sirens, in case you didn't know. It's in the General Siren Discussion board.

The Gray one is a Federal Type B

The yellow one I am not sure on, but my 2? is that it is an ACA Banshee or a Soundmaster.

I thought the 115 was the dual-head one.

Yes, both are still up and operational. There also were two in the township of Blooming Grove: one in a park and the other at the fire dept. The latter was replaced with a 2001 several years ago, while the former is still standing. However, I attempted to record this last September and it failed.

All are 9/12 dual-tone and were installed in 1970. Like most Banshees from that era, the motor is somewhat exposed above the louvers.

That unit [Banshee] looks to have a damper on it. Double conduit coming out of it and the fact it has the longer style intake tube.
