I came across an old Civil Defense video and there were a few scenes in it that has Thunderbolt sirens sounding off.

Was the siren as high-pitched as it was in the video or was it because of the film age? [I don't know.]

I heard that the 'bolt was in Phoenix. Unsure if that is true or not

Judging by the mountains in the background, and by the buildings around the siren, I surmise this rare Thunderbolt was part of Pasadena's outdoor warning system. It seems I can clearly see Mt. Wilson in the first shot of the siren.

I enjoyed watching it, thanks for posting. I find such traininng, public information and documantary films fascinating, looking at another time, not so long ago, yet it could be from another world.

I wouldn't say it's "rare" it's just an early model thunderbolt.
I don't believe the siren sound is the thunderbolt at all. It doesn't sound like any thunderbolt I have ever heard.
I think the film crew went on the roof and just filmed the horn rotating and they added the sound later.

It's hilarious how the youtuber titled it "Declassified Nuclear Test Film." Yeah. That's right. The FCDA film Let's Face It was "classified".... oh brother.....
