Confirming the existence of the ACA Allertronic 5000

Mon Jun 03, 2013 3:27 pm

Has anyone found an Allertronic 5000 in the wild? Ever?

Looks like it couldn't have possibly been able to rotate, unless the horns had some serious strength and light weight to them. The 5000 might be just like the 12 port Allertor- advertised and available, but never installed (or found yet). I would think that someone would have found a siren that wacky looking in the wild already, and would have posted it in the Mystery Sirens thread.

Looks highly illogical. How can it rotate without having problems?

I don't see anything wrong with it's rotation abilities?

It could rotate, but like a Whelen, sence it looks like the wire goes all the way to the top.

If you look closely, you'll see that the whole assembly is attached to the very front of the rotator box. That second bank of drivers is really not attached to the rotator, it's just the angle that makes it look so. I'm sure the siren spins freely.

Oh, I see. Thanks for pointing that out for me.

Sorry for bumping such a old topic, but I was recently talking to a anonymous person (I will leave their name out) and they said this: "The 5000 was made for two years and sold to several cities. It was replaced with the 6000 that was easier to manufacture." At least we know now that it wasn't just a Prototype and it actually went into production for a short while. I messaged him back asking which 7 cities those 5000's were sent to. I will update on the information once he responds back to me.
