Huron County, Ohio (Greenwich) Sirens?

Mon Jun 10, 2013 7:25 pm

Well, I have been interested in Huron County's (Greenwich's) siren system for quite some time now. I made this because I was wondering if anyone has a Test Time and location map of Huron County's warning sirens. I am really interested in the Model 5 on the city hall, I would love to go up there and get some photos. Any Maps or anything I could use? Anything would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a photo of the Model 5 on the City Hall/Fire Department.

And a photo of one of the city's 2001-DC (SRN) sirens:

*Photos are NOT mine, they belong to Rick Staton, I take no credit.

Norwalk also has several 2001-DCs, and a Model 2 installed in the late 1990s, which some I have photographed.

And Williard, I believe, has a siren system as well, possible Monroeville as well. Like I said, anything would be appreciated.

Hmmmm.......... :? I wonder when Huron County tests? I just did a Bing search to see if there was a site that said when they tested, but I did not find anything.

I have a list of the sirens now, makes me want to record that Model 5 in August, since I'll be recording a XT22, Sentry, and T-128 on First Saturday. O_O

I can email you the list if you want it.

Also, does anyone know when Ottawa County tests?

Sent an email 4J25.

I also have a list of the Henry County warning sirens, does anyone want it as well?

The county has 2001s, a Model 2, a Model 5, and some others. (Huron County, not Ottawa)

Sirens that I know of in Henry County are:

Deshler: Sterling M-10 at the fire station.

Hamler: Model 5 downtown west of the water tower. However, I believe this siren has since been moved.

Ridgeville Corners: 2/3T22, replaced a Decot 10/15 port unit.

Sincerely yours,
