Wichita Falls Haul (STH-10 Pulled)

Wed Sep 04, 2013 9:50 pm

So after years and years of waiting, followed by months of talking and asking questions I finally have something to show for all my efforts...perhaps a bit more than I had planned on getting. Some of you may have seen the sneak peaks on Facebook, well here is the start of the haul that I have begun to make.

This siren is located next to Stanley's BBQ in Wichita Falls, Tx and has been standing there since I was a kid. I've passed this siren so many times and it is one of the the sirens that got me interested in this crazy hobby. I have worked out a deal and will be getting this siren once it comes down in the next few weeks. I'm excited and can't wait to have this unit and get to restore a siren I've seen since I was a kid.

I also made another rather small haul on top of that...

I did find a new siren model from federal in there, I call this one the 2Tree22

Some crazy guy on this board will be taking some of the T-bolts and hauling them back to the crazy lands to be put back up! Now Jeb...please come get your sirens soon...they take up A LOT of room :P

PLEASE NOTE: Most of these units have cities that are going to be purchasing them and they're intended to go back into service. So at this time I am not going to be offering anything up for sale until I have a chance to go through everything and determine what all is there. Once that is complete IF there are sirens available I may choose to sell them. Please do not blow up this thread or my PM Box about buying one from me at this time. It will likely be Feb. or March before I get done going through the pile and sorting out what's going where and what is left.

Nice! Congrats on the new Tbolt.

Dude! The 2tree22 is the rarest xt22 variant federal ever made!!! Save it!
Just joking, of course.

It's from Wichita falls, went to Nocona, then came back to WF when they couldn't get it to run.

Do we get the big sign too? That would look good in my frontyard.

No, you need to get a pretty little sign that says, "Siren nut hut". That would fit right in.
My knowledge excels on the Federal Thunderbolt siren and SiraTone EOWS sirens. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The story on the green 2t22 is like "holler" said, the City of Nocona got the siren from Wichita Falls and it was going to be installed at the golf course there. Since it was going at the course they elected to paint it green, from what I understand the siren was assembled, installed and connected. They then went to test the siren and it was silent. Nocona said the motor was blown and returned it back to the Wichita Falls, I as well as Ian and Jeb suspect that the motor wasn't the issue and that the siren may actually be fine.
