Here's my take on it: If you look around you can spot a nuclear generating station in the distance. One siren (Probably the 2001) is the village siren. Another (Probably the T-128) is for the nuclear plant. Another (Probably the Model 5) must be inactive.

Model 5 for fire, 2001 for tornado, T-128 for Nuclear.

Actually you're both close but still off. The 2001-SRNB was an old warning siren for Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station, and has been replaced by the new T-128 beside it. The Model 5 is the fire department's siren, independent of the nuclear plant system. If it hasn't already been, the 2001 should be removed soon along with all the other old sirens in the system (Cyclones, P-10s, and a few other 2001s) now that the new system is in place and operational.

To add on to what Ian said, the new T-128s were a 13 million dollar project, installing 92 of them all around the premises of the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant to replace all 92 of their old sirens. The 2001's, Cyclones, and P-10s are still there, in place, and being used as of July of this summer because all of the bugs of the new T-128 system have not been worked out. When conducting their two test, the first test, testing their old system, almost all of the sirens activated. When the second test came along, it was a different story. None of the T-128s went off. The problem was due to a control box in Dauphin County, which had not been properly configured. I'm not sure if this issued has been fixed yet or not. If it hasn't, it should be fixed as soon as possible.

Here are a couple of articles recalling what happened:

Yep, the Federal Signal 2001 was to be a new siren but it didnt work so they replaced it with a ASC T-128 Siren, which the T-128 is part of the Three Mile Island Siren System, which replaced the old Cyclones and P-10's, which is a shame, the Model 5 is a siren that does Fire Calls. Hope this helped.

What do you mean the 2001 was to be a "new siren?" That is a circa-2004 (+/- a year or two) 2001. That 2001 was not new and couldn't have been new and was not going to replace anything in the Exelon system at this time. And it was a part of the Exelon system as was established earlier in this thread by people who'd know.

So, no offense, but you had to have made that up, gotten turned around, or not communicated your point clearly. As has been established, the entire Exelon Three Mile Island system was replaced with a T-128 system as installed by ANC. Exelon paid to have sirens replaced at most of its nuke plants (and I think ASC/ANC won all of them). The TMI system had 2001s in it. And if you meant to say someone else bought that 2001 for another purpose and is being superseded, please indicate that. But both Austin and Ian established quite accurately what happened.

...so if you plant a fractured Model 2 rotor, add fertilizer and water regularly, will you be able to grow an STH-10? ;)
