single or 3 phase RCM?

Sat Oct 12, 2013 10:44 pm

Hello everyone

I have a question. If I am just looking at an RCM board with no cabinet to tell me A or B for 3 or single phase, how do i tell by just looking at the board of a rcm to tell if its 3 or single phase? hope this makes sense. Basically i just want to know by looking directly at a RCM circuit board with no cabinet, just looking at the board, how do you know if its a 3 or single phase?

thanks guys!!
Chris

Look at the number of wires at the terminal strip for the blower. If it has three its three phase, two its single.

Thanks Holler

this is strange, I have a known RCMB (label says on the cover for the cabinet) but at the blower term strip it is a 3 term strip. which would indicate 3 phase???

As far as I know, all RCM1 panels use three-terminal blocks for the blower hookup and the main power input. The single phase ones only have two wires going into each of the blocks though, leaving one terminal unused per block. (Three phase panels use all three terminals.)
