Completely restored Chrystler Bell Victory siren in a Seattle suburb at the very top of a hill. It has a fresh new coat of civil defense yellow. Unfortunately, it is not operational but still has the panel and pump to sent fuel to the siren at the base of the massive green tower.

Where is the Model A in Seattle?

Wait, why would they restore a Chrysler that is non operational nor inside? That's like replacing a chopper cap on a thunderbolt that hasn't operated in 20+ years and won't operate again.

Most drawbridges in Oregon, and I'm sure Washington as well, have Model A sirens (or something similar) to warn traffic. Only in Portland do the bridges have bells or electronic tones to warn cars.

Is it just me, or does it look like the drive line to the chopper has been removed on the Chrysler?

The model A is at the south worth ferry dock in west Seattle. The chrystler does NOT have a drive shaft. it was restored for historical and cosmetic reasons.

Cool fact, I once heard the restored Model 5B TWICE while at the resort doing some skiing, it sounds exactly like the Kanasket 5B.

Also, here's some more up-close pictures of the 3016 and Modulator (photo credits to NW Siren Hunters):

That Whelen hasn't rotated for years! Does pierce county plan on activating it again? Also, i to heard the Snoqualmie Model 5B and it sounded like it was having trouble getting up to full speed. I think it is on 208V

They said it's one of the "broken" ones, this may be the one they were planning to replace with a Mod 2 in the next couple years. There's also an inactive Whelen 0.3 miles NE of the Modulator, a 2001 0.5 miles south of the 2001 at Fife High School, and a 2001 just to the west of the Modulator.

Just imagine how much coverage we would have if every single siren went off at once.

I hate that they want to replace the Whelens; fix the rotators and maybe slap a UV on them.
Then again, they are old sirens.
