UAH Siren Hunt 11-9-13

Sun Nov 10, 2013 2:24 am

I went out to UAH with my family today to take a look at the college. While we were there, I decided to get photos of the 2001s they had on campus. When I got there, I found out that they replaced the 2001s with Cooper WAVES sirens.

The first siren I saw was a Cooper WAVES siren on top of Robert Hall on the north side of the campus. It is the replacement for the 2001-AC on the roof of Salmon Library.

The next siren I saw was the 2001-AC on top of Salmon Library.

The third and final siren I saw was another Cooper WAVES siren on the roof of the Materials Science building on the south side of the campus.

That's all from today! I didn't see the 2001 on the south side of the campus so I assume it has been removed.

Nice photos! You don't see WAVES sirens very often...the only others I know of are at Fort Story here in Virginia.

I was at UAH yesterday. The 2001 on the south side of the campus is still there ( 34°43'20.77"N 86°38'25.87"W ). It is on top of a building as well. Its just not as visible. The cooper sirens must be for their on campus alerting system. The 2001's are still on and active. They are the only 2 activated by us downtown.

In other news, we got 5 brand new Sentry 20V2T's in our garage right now waiting to be put up. They are tall.
