If I read this right.. :? American Signal got 45,000. for one siren?

That is probably for the whole system poles installs and radio gear

Yeah. Don't forget you're shipping these things across an ocean, not just over land. That will quickly drive the cost up, too.

Though I'm really not sure where you got a $45,000 figure. I counted 17 units mentioned in the article, which gets me closer to $40,000.

Considering sea freight, poles, communications/radio equipment, labor, and god knows what else was a part of the project, that doesn't sound far off.

Yeah, it looks like a 2805, but I am not too sure by looking at the picture.

I may be counting wrong, but I see 24 sirens mentioned. That would be near $28,000 for each siren.
