another siren in Mountain View,OK

Fri Jan 31, 2014 7:19 am

Found another siren in Mountain View,OK. in Street View.
Besides the Thunderbolt 1000T on Main St. & 4th St.,I found a yellow eight or nine horn Sentry 3Vxxx,
or 7Vxxx. on 5th St. between Randlett St. & Rainy Mountain St.

They have three Sentry sirens, all 7V8s, in addition to the Thunderbolt at the fire department. In addition to that one you mentioned, one is at 9th & Wash.ita* next to the water tank, and the other is on 3rd, between SW Oklahoma and Wash.ita* in an alley.

*Had to separate this road's name with the . to evade a certain someone's word filter, since it sees the word "sh*t" in the name, therefore making it censor to "poopoo". (Thanks Matt! :P)

That's an interesting install and makes the siren easy to maintain up on that platform.

After it was installed in the 1970s, I could just see it from my Uncle's farm southwest of town. I was never there when it was activated much to my disappointment.
