Eastern Washington/Oregon siren huntlet.

I took a scenic drive around the area today and found a few sirens. Nothing fancy. The Oregon ones are from last month.

Othello, WA: Sentry 20V-something-T

Also, two very tall Whelens north of Richland near Hanford, which I didn't photograph.

I waited, but unfortunately Othello does not do a noon test.

I am willing to bet one of those villages do. I admit though I am a little surprised Othello doesn't because the sentry is a fairly new siren.

There are very few places out here which have noon tests. The only ones I know of, though there may be more, are Waitsburg, WA, and in eastern Oregon, Arlington, Condon, and John Day.
Many towns still use sirens for fire calls, but many more don't use their sirens at all.

Didn't you also record canyon city doing a noon blast? Or did they remove that screamer?

Canyon City has a Screamer and a Model 2 near the high school, about halfway between downtown Canyon City and John Day, which are about two miles apart. The Screamer was on the hill above the downtown area, but was moved to the water tank on the opposite hill about a mile away, meaning that in the main part of town, one can barely hear either siren. That Screamer is on Youtube, and another video of the John Day HOR siren has the Model 2 in the background.
