Lake Delton Getting New Sirens

Tue Jun 03, 2014 4:04 am

If this has been posted previously I apologize though I did do a search for "Lake Delton" so if I missed anything lemme know. They originally had a Thunderbolt which was crushed to pieces when the FD was torn down. From the article I gather they must be getting modulators from FS. They will start with three but expand to seven. It also appears that the FS system will be integrated into the PA systems of the various water/amusement parks in the city to activate with the sirens. It sounds like a great setup! I'll try to run up there soon to see if I can spot any of the units.

With the Dells...hooking up resort PA systems to the siren system is a fantastic idea. Now that's public warning done right in a touristy area. All they need to do is slap in some UVICs to the existing systems and that should take care of it. Might be a wee bit pricy, but for the Dells, that's just what may have to happen.

I wonder if they have plans to change the pitch on the UVs. Highly doubt that they would go through the trouble of it, but it would be cool to have them running at like 560 Hz if they decide to use alert or pulse.

So, is lake delton and Wis Dell's two different cities? I thought I've seen a 2001-DC, a 2001-130 mounted on a tbolt standpipe and a old STL-10 in a little tower next to the 130 in the Dell's before

The Dells and Lake Delton are two seperate cities but are connected together. The Dells is north and Lake Delton is south. The Dells has a system of three 2001s (Arby's, FD, and by Chula Vista) and a 2T22 (out by the PW garage on the east end of town). You can see them all on this map https://mapsengine.google.com/map/edit? ... yKiiH2QUKQ

Wait you were the one that got the STL-10 that was in the fire tower at the Kilbourn FD?

I thought the FD scraped it when I went to the Dells the next year and found the tower missing.
