Cobb County, GA

I'll be passing through Cobb County next year (I know, a long way off...) and I'd like to know what kind of sirens there are. Does anyone have a map of both the active and inactive sirens in the county?

Here's the map of every siren within Cobb County, active or not. The ones that are still there but inactive will say so in the description for that pushpin. Any old sirens currently within the City of Smyrna are inactive as they have a newer system of Whelen Vortex R4s (which is independent of the county system), and there are a couple or so old sirens scattered about in the county that seem to be "forgotten about" and are still standing but inactive. Also just a heads up, I wouldn't necessarily count on the remaining three active Thunderbolts in the county system still being there when you come through next year, and possibly even Smyrna's old sirens either as those are supposed to eventually be taken down sometime in the foreseeable future. Those three active Thunderbolts are already slated for replacement whenever the next round of funding comes around, and they already swapped out a little over half a dozen other Thunderbolts last year with Vortex R4s.

Okay. And, yet again more questions... XD (Sorry) Which sirens test and I may as well ask this... I'm asking for AN maps of inactive and/or active sirens from Villa Hills to Atlanta, GA. Basically, type that into Google Maps/Earth or Mapquest, see where the highway goes through, and those are counties I would like to have maps for. Hopefully I'm not asking to much...

The only inactive sirens are in Fulton, Cobb, and DeKalb

In fulton there's a late '70s vintage 1003 on the Federal Building at Spring and MLK
In cobb, anything yelllow in Smyrna, and a Tbolt on Sandy Plains Rd, and a whelen 1000 in Downtown Kennesaw
In Dekalb, there is a blowerless Thunderbolt at Oak Grove Elementary. In Dekalb though, if you see big poles with pipes running up the side of them, you have yourself an old siren pole. I know where a good majority of them are in DeKalb, if you care.

Great Cobb County Map!

I didn't know there were so many sirens on the Dobbins complex.

Some comments about other sirens.

Cobb #3 replaced a Thunderbolt which was originally at Cobb FS#3 on Terrell Mill Rd.

#37 also replaced a Thunderbolt.

I believe that #43 was taken down due to road construction; #55 was in place before that was done.

#54 actually replaced an M-10 formerly in downtown Acworth(got that info from Cobb EMA some time ago). The M-10 was originally painted red and was the town fire siren. Sometime in early 90s it was painted yellow and Cobb EMA operated the siren as part of its system. The M-10 was originally at on "Senator Richard Russell Square." That name has changed to something like "Senator Russell Avenue.". The siren was near the intersection of that street and I believe Lemon Street. It was NW of where the Whelen is located. I saw that M-10 countless times; can still see it in my mind. However, some of the buildings which were near/behind it have been demolished, so I've lost its points of reference.
