Can someone help me locate this unknown 12-port siren?

Fri Sep 12, 2014 12:20 am

I was at my grandparents' weekend house in Alford, MA last November, and I heard a distant 12-port siren coming from what sounded like the west. I don't know where it came from, as Alford does not currently have a fire siren to my knowledge and I cannot find a fire department directly in that direction. The house is on East Rd, but I do not want to give the address. I suspect it is a Model 5, because most of the sirens up there are Model 5s, it seems. Could you help me figure out where it came from and what kind of siren it is? Maybe the acoustics were playing tricks on me?

The house is on East Rd, but I do not want to give the address.
How do you expect us to help you locate a siren when you do not want to give us the address?

Could it have been an RSH-10? There's one not to far away from Alford.

Maybe the siren is covered by a "cupola?" Or have a customized housing?

Could you look on a map for where it came from?

So you want us to look on a map, for a siren you heard that nobody else here has, and all you give is a very vague address? Since you know the most about all the variables in hearing this siren, what's stopping you from looking at a map yourself?

I have tried, but I want some help. I will only give an approximate address. 60 East Rd, West Stockbridge, MA. I will not say which houses belong to my family.
