Alertronic's being removed in Bolingbrook, IL

Sat Nov 29, 2014 3:47 am

While driving down Weber Rd in Bolingbrook, I noticed one of the Alertronic's of of 115th St. has been removed and replaced by a 2001 on the same pole :wtf:  :wtf: . Could this be an end to these rare siren's, or is this a one-time-only thing?

Did you look at it closely? It could have been an Equinox.

I could not tell, it was 5:00 at night and it was hard to see. It very well could have been an Equinox.

No, it's probably a 130. They replaced all of the EOWS sirens with 130's a few years back, looks like they are finishing the job.

A few years ago the one off I-55 near Joliet Rd disappeared...For at least a year, there was a half of a snapped pole still standing. But now it's completely gone.

Yes the one on I-55 was blown down in 2008 by a storm. They put a new 2001 up a few blocks south of it.

In my opinion, alertronics sound sort-of like modulators

Speaking of Allertronics being removed, the one by the Holiday Inn in Rolling Meadows is gone and in its place sits a T-128. Not sure about the other three, but their RM-130 is still up.

Interesting, any ideas as to when that happened? Haven't been in that area for several months.

Probably just at the end of their useful lives and time to replace.
