2015 Minnesota Siren Meet

Fri Dec 12, 2014 3:51 am

I am strongly considering hosting a siren meet here at our farm in southern Minnesota. It's out in the country, 10 miles away from any city, no neighbors to worry about, no sheriffs nearby. We have rotary converted 3-phase 240 powering up to 15 HP motors and single phase 240. There is a hotel in Madelia 15 minutes away with nice rooms and reasonable rates. I would like to hear everyone's feedback if they are interested.

Ugh! If only I still lived in Minnesota :( ! Despite this, when is it? I could possibly arrange a visit to my aunt in Oswego and swing by on the way out. I would bring the Model J (of course).

I was thinking in July sometime. But I need to see how many people are interested and can commit.

I might be able to go. I've been wanting to take a fishing trip to the Great Lakes, and I have a friend in Michigan whom I can visit on the way out. I won't know anything for sure for a while though.

I live in Maple grove, MN (a suburb of Minneapolis). I would love to come. Although I don't if my parents would let me go there. But hopefully my parents will let me take a day trip down there.

If I owned something related to sirens, and if my parents would take this "hobby" seriously, I would ask them to bring me, but I am too young, and I live in Illinois
Whatever you do, don't push that big red button🔴!!!

I'm going for sure! Let me know which sirens you want me to bring! I can arrive a day early and help you set up too.

Sadly this is firmly in "no can do" territory for me, due to both the timing and the distance (especially the former). Sorry!
