Model A or L siren project on its way.

Thu Feb 05, 2015 6:37 am

Well I guess its time that I finally get a siren. Well, not like a thunderbolt or sth-10 but a relitvly easy siren. A Model A siren. Yes you heard it right. I MIGHT be able to own a Model A or L siren. Now some history that I know of this Model A or L is its right outside a firesation. I think before it used to warn people and cars that a firetruck was coming but now its used for nothing. Its also very rusty. But the part that sucks about the siren is the missing horn. I cant tell at all if its a Model A or Model L. But one intresting thing is that the siren is sitting on some kind of yellow box. (Which seems to be the control box but I dont know yet.) I would love to go down there and ask the firestation, but there currently during renovations to the fire station so I cant ask. :? Anyways after there finished ill go down there to try and ask. What do you guys think about this siren?

That's not my Model L, that is owned by the user Tony991 on the ARS. Worn paint perhaps? Anyway, no problem! :)

Red rustoleum has a tendency to turn pink after a while. There is a guy on here who has a '77 thunderbolt that was red but faded to a pink color.

Lol thats interesting! Right now I'm just planning ahead for which color I'm gonna color the Model A or L siren. Its not gonna be red because I want to make it a custom color. I wanna make it either a darkish Green (to blend in with the plants and trees) OR make it plain white. Im thinking of putting that federal signal corperation sticker that federal signal used in the 80's on my control box for the Model A or L siren. If anyone has a sample of that sticker can you please take a picture and post it. Im having some trouble trying to find that exact one.
