Federal Sign and Signal Model B9 siren project.

Sun Sep 13, 2015 5:16 pm

Hey there guys! Recently I decided to modify my B9 siren. Took the insides of the B9 out and just flipped it over. Im gonna make some stand for the siren to sit up on. Also I might make a flywheel for the siren so it has a longer wind down,

Here is a drawing of what it will look like. Also I will test the siren upside down to see if it works. (Some sirens are not meant to be upside down as they may get damaged.)

Ok. Just an update. I tried to wire the siren up today to wire it. I turned it on and a second later a group of sparks flew from the siren. I quickly took the wires out of the outlet. When I looked at the siren I saw a black spot on the chopper. When I looked closer there was a small indent at the black spot from the sparks. Heres what it looked like. This scared the living crap out of me and Im not going to wire this siren up again until I can get help. Also, is the indent made in the chopper bad?
