Nice to see that this beast still stands.

Took a video of it a little while back, and it sounds sweet even with no rotation. :D

I've always felt kind of bad for the folks living in those apartment buildings about 150 yards or so in direction that the horn faces. They've been getting the full brunt of that loud beast for about a decade now whenever it goes off. I guess one good thing about it is that they can't say they didn't get the warning of an impending storm though! I wish the county would allow it to be repaired so it can at least rotate like it's supposed to, especially since it has technically left a pretty sizable coverage gap from the rest of the surrounding area given that it's the only siren within at least a mile or so in any direction around it.

Well, if it is a AT like you said it is, its funny, because the the only thunderbolt recording on my channel is a 1000AT with a broken rotator!
I own: One complete SiraTone, another SiraTone control module, a 1600W MC, 2 old ATI controllers, 2 round ATI horns with drivers, a ATI-DSA 4 thing, a Federal Signal FC, AR timer and Siratrol, and a small CD&F.

Dude you were very close to that beast. That had to be ear piercing loud!

That was the first siren I recorded and the first T-bolt I witnessed up close. Cool to see it's still up; I believe it's the last functioning Thunderbolt in Cobb County. The ones at the Austell Gov't Center and the Fire station at Hicks and Hurt are gone. I keep wanting to get back to it before it's too late, but just haven't managed to have the time. The video quality wasn't good but I'm pretty happy with the audio in it. Can hear the blower start and such.

I did try to record #7 (the firestation one) and found a shiny new Whelen Vortex there. Didn't even go off at the time, must have been brand new and not hooked up yet.

This one is the only remaining Thunderbolt in the system. They still operate 10 or so 2001-SRNs that are AC only. Now since the company that they used closed their doors, those sirens might last a bit longer now.
