What's left of the Tucson, AZ Siren Graveyard

Sat Mar 26, 2016 5:25 pm

Some of you who live in the southwest may know of Tucson's siren graveyard, which contained all the old Civil Defense sirens Tucson used during the Cold War. There are several videos of it on YouTube, the earliest dating back to 2009. Back in 2009, the graveyard consisted of Thunderbolt 1000's, and SD-10's. A friend I know of by the name of tboltmaniac has documented the siren graveyard as well. He has a YouTube channel, too.

However, I made this post toward people who are looking to go to the siren graveyard as of 2016. Me and tboltmaniac exchange messages on Facebook. To anyone who want to go to the graveyard, the only thing that's left is a couple of control panels, mostly rusted, and one last SD-10 buried under 2 to 3 tons of metal poles.

Just thought I'd let you know. If you still want to check it out, I'll give you the coordinates.

Please go back and remove that thunderbolt smiley and type out the word. The rules state that you aren't supposed to do that and most people get pissed off when they see that happen. Sorry if I sound a little rude.

As for your post... That's quite interesting. I didn't think there was much left.
My knowledge excels on the Federal Thunderbolt siren and SiraTone EOWS sirens. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh, I didn't know that. Thank you for informing me! And yeah, that's really all that's left... It's quite unfortunate. And, the cops now patrol that area, as the Tucson city council found out about siren enthusiasts looting the place... The land the graveyard is on IS owned by the federal government, though.
