ACA Hurricane-130 Tornado Siren Test In Darien Illinois

Wed Jul 06, 2016 12:20 am

Hey Guys,

Just went to record the ACA Hurricane-130 siren. Man it was loud! I couldn't hear anything while the Hurricane-130 was on. It's was maybe one times more louder than a Thunderbolt siren. Just saying because the sound wave was more intense than even the ACA PN-20 siren that I recored last month. And sadly no 4K version this time around due to me thinking it's not gonna activate. But did. And lucky I got it on one of my cameras. Here is the link to the siren test. https://youtu.be/LvqkAOtXn34

This is one of the greatest Hurricane videos I have ever seen. I just LOVE the 8/10, I wish it would have been used in other siren models. Thanks for sharing!

The 4/5 port chopper on some Thunderbolts and the Model 2T makes the same notes, just with more distortion.
Down to a Thunderbolt chopper, still a few goofy flashlight-siren combos, and a Model L.

Because the hurricane has 2 choppers and the thunderbolt and model 2 have one. That's why a dual tone thunderbolt doesn't seem as potent as a dual tone hurricane. Too bad nobody seems to own a fully functioning mkII hurricane. It would be fun to do a shootout between that one and the bolt. Anyways... Nice video!
Own and love a Thunderbolt 1000 and a Model 5.

I have many hobbies and interests. And I love them all.

Matt does. It's just dismembered.

Matt's hurricane's blower is dead. I've talked to him about it on IRC.
I own: One complete SiraTone, another SiraTone control module, a 1600W MC, 2 old ATI controllers, 2 round ATI horns with drivers, a ATI-DSA 4 thing, a Federal Signal FC, AR timer and Siratrol, and a small CD&F.

Clayton Werden has a Hurricane that looks to be in good condition. It is neatly assembled on a roof mount turret.

Every other privately-owned Hurricane is in pieces, broken, or missing parts.

Nice! Like I say I think it'd be super fun to do a shootout... Not necessarily to prove that one is louder or better than another just considering that with the bolts multiple blower uses and adjustable pitch it would kind of make a realistic comparison unfair... But just to make some fun noise between 2 loved sirens! Sorry I went ot guess I got a little carried away.

That stinks. At least he had it for six to seven year now.
