Calling all Siren Experts! Need help with Model 2.

Fri Oct 07, 2016 7:13 pm

Yesterday I took the bearings off of my Model 2's armature as the older armature type does not fit with the newer field. I now have new problem which I do not know how to do. There is a bearing stop that I cannot take out. Now for anyone who has separated the chopper from the Armature for a Model 2 or Thunderbolt, how do you take this bearing stop out. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Mine slid right off so maybe it's stuck? Amateur advice but try 3n1 penetrating oil?

Penetrating oil or even PB Blaster are better bets in my opinion when it comes to loosening up things. It's up to you.

The spacers are just a slip fit over the armature shaft. It should just slide off. You are going to have to use a puller to get the rotor off of the armature shaft anyway. Use a little penetrating oil as a precaution, and just pull both of them off at the same time.
