8/12 port Darley Champion?

Mon Sep 25, 2017 3:13 am

Since we have recordings of 12 port Darley 3v8's, you can see that the rotor/stator is the same shape as the 8 port rotors used on the horizontal Darley Champion. Were 8/12 port Champions ever made? All it looks like it would take is replacing one of the 8 port rotors with a 12 port rotor.

Simple answer, Probably not. And replacing one of the stators isn't that easy either.

I believe the Champion is much smaller than the 3V8, but I could be incorrect.
