Early Sterling sirens that resembled Denvers

Attached are some articles from a siren built by Interstate Machine Products for Sterling Siren Fire Alarm of Rochester NY. Whether the patent for the Denver Siren was bought out or Sterling just designed a similar siren is t be determined. A few of the Duplex single head models have been found in the wild, but I don't think we've ever found a dual head quadruplex.

A Y 10 is nothing more than an M style siren with a coding brake.

I think the actual rotor/stators on these are Denver products. Sterling may have sold them paired to motors as their own, or on behalf of Denver. Note the term "Quadruplex" on the advertisement. That is definitely a Denver term, not Sterling's.

See I'm almost wondering if it wasn't a new design for the Denver that was sold to Interstate Machine by Dillon Box Iron Works inorder eliminate sirens from their product line.

Both wrong. It's called a Super Quad, a 12-horsepower siren fire alarm, a variant of the model M. It has four rotors unlike most sirens. It's very rare because of its high maintenance

Yeah, great job bumping a 7 year old post to incorectly tell us how wrong we are.

FYI, these sirens were produced by Interstate Machine Products begining in 1916, and discontinued in 1918 in favor of the infamous Model M released in 1917. The 12HP superquad wasn't released until 1926, and it's reasoning for it's rarity today had nothing to do with maintenance. They're rare because they were ridiculously expensive for very little benefit over the traditional Model M.
