What is so different about the system sensor spectralert advance.I know it looks different but it sounds the same to me because our longhorns had a drill with the advances and the seem to be just as loud.What is so good about it?

Well, really the top feature is to benefit the electricians installing them. It has a base that it just pops onto, so no need to hold it when wiring it up. It also has a lower pitch than the old SpectrAlert series (also lots more raspy). It also adjusts itself to the voltage of the system. They can take 12-24VDC each. They also have brighter strobes if needed (up to 185 Cd). And all strobes have selectable output brightness.

Not that I know of, but the volume is adjustable. Also when comparing a SpectrAlert Advance to an old Spectralert, when the old SpectrAlert is on a panel such as an SFP-400 or MS-2, it sounds raspier than usual. That could've been the case.

Possibly our school has Gentex Gms's, The regular spectr alert,and wheelock speakers in the gym.Could it be that I am hearing the Gms's and Spectr's at the same time which makes it seem lower.
