Pierce County has once again done it. As part of a system upgrade, they began adding in new sirens (Modulator IIs) in vulnerable areas across the county that were not previously covered. None of these new locations are in the Puyallup River valley. However, what I didn’t know was that they would be adding new Modulators in the Fife area. They’re not new locations. They replaced EVERY 2001. Even the new 130s that were installed less than five years ago. The SRNBs? All gone too. All sirens in the county are now Modulators ranging from first-gen 1004s to 8032-Bs.

I took these photos with my phone just a few hours ago. I discovered these when I was driving on the freeway last week and happened to look at the one in the last pic. I was as shocked as you guys probably are (not). Waste of money or a good investment? Better pics coming soon.
