Where is the old Mineola 1003 now?

Thu Dec 29, 2022 7:35 am

Just to wonder, I was scrolling around with street view on Google maps and went to where Mineola's famous 1003 used to stand. And I know the building was demolished but did the siren go down with it for was it taken to a junkyard or something like that?

IIRC It is being restored to be put back up at the new FD at some point in the very near future, and they have a restored temporary Bolt in a nearby location. I could be wrong, but I believe this is the current story

The temporary loaner Bolt was removed recently, so the old one's likely going to be put back up in the near future along with the Gamewell horns.

That's a good question. My guess would be its from another local fire department, but it could have been as far away as the West Coast.
