Mystery siren in France

Sun Jun 30, 2024 10:48 am

Hello everyone

While watching a French movie "Les Fugitifs" featuring Gérard Depardieu, I saw this siren on top of the penitentiary, I clearly don't know what type of model it would be, as France don't get that much siren models.

I suppose it sounds like the other standard models.

I don't know much about French sirens either, but I'm thinking that it's just a vent. I think what look like chopper ports is just holes in the vent that allow for more circulation. Then again, I absolutely have no idea what French sirens look like, so it's just my best guess!

I'm probably the go-to person to learn about my city's siren history.

The motor shroud is way too tall to be a siren. Agreeing with Greenrid here.

I agree that it might be a vent, but I'm also not aware with French sirens. The ports you indicated for the choppers might just be openings for improved airflow. However, it's only a guess on my side as well because I'm not sure myself!
