NAFCO Sterling K5?

This twin siren setup is located in North Amityville NY at North Amityville Fire Co's HQ. A Federal STL-10 w/square horns sits above what looks like a Sterling K5 or 2V8...can anyone tell from the pics? There were no markings, it's been painted over, probably a dozen times since the 40's. A fire commissioner thinks they had it on their original garage back in 1940! The STL-10 dates back to around 1960 according to him.

It's definitely not a Sterling product. It appears to be a H.O.R. Siro-Drone Model 925, but I may be wrong. NY had a lot of H.O.R. sirens back in the day, so it's possible.

It's hard to tell, but It doesn't seem to have any finger guards on it unless it they're vertical instead of horizontal. It would have to have a heavily modified cover as well, as the original housing (unless this is the original housing) seems to look more like a Model 5 or 7 than what this looks like.

I personally thought it might be a Spartan model of some sorts or even a modified Model 1/2, but these could also be wildly inaccurate as well. There's also a possibility that this might be another completely separate branding of siren we don't know about yet as well!

I believe what Greenrid was meaning was that the H.O.R. SiroDrone’s housing has a more conical rain cover design, similar to the Model 5/7. I don’t think that he was suggesting this siren to actually be a Model 5/7, as far as I can tell.

Anyway, personally I’m leaning towards Sterling, but then again I haven’t the foggiest clue about most US sirens so take my opinion with a grain of salt

It's definitely not Sterling. It bears no resemblance to any of the VX models or anything else Sterling made.
