No CC sirens?

Sat Aug 10, 2024 1:54 am

I live in Corpus Christi, Texas, and I can’t help noticing that we don’t have any sirens, besides for our refineries and our port. Anyone know why? We do get severe storms from time to time, including hurricanes. While we do have weeks’ advance warning for hurricanes, it would still come in handy to have sirens for people who can’t evacuate, to mark the beginning of the storm.
If anyone knows the answer, please let me know

Your best bet is probably reaching out to your local municipality's emergency management agency/office of emergency management. If I had to hazard a guess, it's because they decided a text-based alert system like CodeRED was a better option than maintaining sirens.
