Just bought my first siren, a IMI AL 1578 "Werkesirene"
Well, I guess it's finally happening, after all these years, I've finally bought my first siren, and not just any sirens, but one of those "DDR" sirens.
Here's some pictures courtesy of the seller: It should arrive there in a couple of days... As an aside, the seller reffered to it as a "Werkesirene", which I guess stands for "Factory siren", other than this, I have little to no information about this little guy.

Slight update, it arrived today (ordered last Thursday, received it today, talk about speedy service!), I'm in the process of cleaning it up a bit, much to my surprise, the brushes are in very good shape and don't seem to be too worn.
Taking the rain shield off revealed a potential date code of 1968, I ran the siren on three daisy chained 9V batteries and got the rotor to spin up, I'll go grab a power cord and do a full power run-up later.
