Fri Jan 17, 2025 2:54 am

I Heard some parts of Florida & South Carolina have Sirens that Sound for Hurricanes. But I've been curious. are there Actually Sirens that sound when a hurricane is about to make landfall? in hurricane prone areas, apparently there have been articles about them.

I grew up in Pinellas County, FL, and several of the beach communities had fire/civil defense sirens. Many probably hadn't been used in years.

Today, only a few communities on the west coast of Florida use sirens for evacuations.
