Hello again (T1000A restoration)

13 years later... Now I have a place to actually work on this along with 10 years of mechanical experience with the Air Force I decided to revisit this project and this forum.

Here are some updates...

Brand new bearings, insulated the windings, organized hardware (to the best of my ability) and arranged the recovery of the rotator and projector from storage.

Since its been so long, (and the fact that I didn't label any of my bolts, nuts, and screws when I dissembled the chopper... Genius I know) I am likely going to need some help figuring out what bolt, etc, goes where when I finally get down to reassembling this...

Looks like a fun project! Good look getting those nuts and bolts sorted. 13 years is a long time for a project to sit - I'd probably be seriously bumbling around it myself

Looks like a fun project! Good look getting those nuts and bolts sorted. 13 years is a long time for a project to sit - I'd probably be seriously bumbling around it myself

Thankfully I have 85% of them sorted out, though still have a bag of unknowns, which I will likely figure out when the rotator comes back to me... I didn't dig too deep into that part thankfully, though that is my next step when I have the chopper finished. Of course now I am gonna make sure I label everything going forward XD

Btw the siren at Wilmot is missing its control box cover

Yeah that place got picked clean, kinda happy it did. Lol I still wonder who I "stole" this Thunderbolt from. I literally showed one day to scout it out, found this thunderbolt already dismounted with the projector off. Didn't waste the opportunity and just tossed it in my vehicle

Also for the Wilmot siren, I kinda suspect tweakers...

I tried contacting Tucson about the siren they referred me to a historical society (smth like that) and they tried to call who owned that land and nothing rip.

Its county land, next to one of their service stations. Sadly (though also in a way fortunately since those sirens likely were rescued) there are no more sirens left, only the poles they were on.

Even the control boxes are gone.
