Had a "perfect" run - no siren.

Sun Jun 08, 2008 12:31 pm

Emergent transport call, 23:26
With good lights and good vehicle placement (traveling left in the left lane) we were able to get to the blood center and transport to a hospital without sounding the siren even once!
On the same street we traveled silently, later in the night an ambulance is blaring its siren constantly while there are NO vehicles or pedestrians.
The only ones to hear it our those trying to sleep in their homes and dogs which start howling.

Ambulances could respond at night without blaring sirens thoughout entire neighborhoods.
I need the sleep and some ambulance travels on a vacant road with siren blaring.
Sent an e-complaint about it to Rural/Metro ambulance company but they never replied.
A reply might have required a little thought on their part.

I am pleased when I do not disturb others' peace.
They should also try it.

I may have to get LN , R2, Linda and AnneMarie to stay an extra day and straighten Denver up.

Hells bells I was doing runs for the bloodbank back in the 80s for $35- a run, and accomplishing it without ever getting out of bed.
I'd give the towtruck drivers for the service that hooked illegal parkers $15- they'd use the company truck, and pick up an extra $10- by finding and hooking an illegal parker at the hospital.
Best part, the guy who owned the towtruck company hated the Red Crooks with a passion. He never figured out his trucks were running blood.

What kind of hospitals you got out there that move instruments around? Ain't you boys heard we're in the 21st century? We don't cottin to that swap and switch crap around here.

You're in a heap of trouble out there when over 4000 of them gals arrive.

BTW, the scummer President of Rural Metro has a base salary of 1.2 mil a year + incentives. No wonder RM employs politicians as consultants.

How clever of you! Also how funny.
(I am an unpaid volunteer being awakened at 2 a.m., etc.!!)

Hospitals here are CONSTANTLY borrowing instruments.
I'm called only if they run out of something or an instrument or machine breaks just before or during surgery and they have no other one suitable at their hospital. Or if an implant is damaged, turns out to be the wrong size, etc.

They all make noise needlessly.
Denver Fire has a habit of keeping their Q peaked at one high pitch which doesn't even sound like a siren.

What do you mean?

The Expedition is a state designated Authorized Emergency Vehicle so needs no escort.
I made the Streethawk light bar better by adding some lights and inserting a strobe light into each alley light.
Also, since the lightbar and flashing headlights are higher than police vehicle lights, they can be noticed earlier.
The Unitrol 200 watt siren is louder than single speaker police sirens behind the grill. So I sound it as sparingly as possible.

I had a switch that changed wig-wag to both headlights ON/OFF.
Both on and off was more effective than wigwag.

OK Bob, since we got that nice available chauffered limo with flashing lights etc, how many nurses can it seat comfortably, and how's the climate control in the passenger compartment. Is the passenger compartment equipped with running boards and grab handles for the terminally short?

Since there are at least 2, possibly 5 (2 fairly small) who may have nothing to do Wednesday night (no planned events) I can designate you for a tourguide, and you can haul them around the city to view the sites.

Flower patches should be on the tour. You might need hearing protection if they get to yackin it up.

Also do you have a list of BailBondsmen in Denver?
