My school's alarms

Tue Jun 17, 2008 9:50 pm

I need some help indentifying my junior high's fire alarms. Here is a description of them.

They are red. They sound like a t-bolt with a low chopper level on wind-up. Ones with a single horn stick out straight and are shaped like a diamond. The ones with two have the horns at the sides and are triangular.

It might not be much help but it's all the info I have. Can anybody ID it?

Well, at my very old middle school, we had alarm bells which where horns, some were a diamond shape, and others were rounded. And also, there is a complex not too far from where I live, they have a fire alarm system that uses horns (Here, we use bells). They are red. Though I never heard one of those sound like a Thunderbolt. Now, I took some time to look into what alarm you were talking about. So far I found that one with the two triangular horns, it appears to be called the Farady National Time. I wish I can find a video or audio of one, because I really want to hear it myself.

Ok, I'll try to get some pictures if I have to register there this summer again. But about how it souns like a Thunerbolt. It doesn't exactly sound like one, but when I first heard it the sound of a t-bolt popped in my mind. A better way to describe it would be like a diesel truck horn but only lower in pitch. But it's got this definate wail sound to it.

Wow it only took me two minutes to find them.

Here are the links. And I was wrong about the triangular horns on the one with two horns.
