ACA P15/ASC RM127 in Alert

Here's the single tone P10 I was telling you guys about. I'm actually pretty sure that it is indeed a P15. It has a straight cone and a screen covering the intake which none of the other sirens do. It starts at about 2:00.

After this test, I could hear the 2001 from Palos Heights (Picture in this forum...http://airraidsirens.com/forums/viewtop ... 2&start=15)
doing fast wail. I don't know why because they don't use fast wail for anything as far as I know--Alert for weather and Wail for civil defense.

Then as an extra surprise treat, right after taking the video, I picked up my friend and we went to the Tinley Park train station to go to the Taste of Chicago. As we're sitting there, what do I hear wind up but a 2001 and two Thunderbolt 1000T! I was so excited...I'm not sure why but Tinley seems to test its sirens at 10:30 AM instead of the Illinois Statewide 10:00 AM. Not complaining. They did 3 minutes Alert and immediately went into 3 minutes Attack without even winding down. Great sound.

Dude, that is such an awesome video. I wish it were on youtube so I could favorite it.

I mean really, how awesome is it that the guy mowing the lawn FINALLY gets to the point of mowing around the base of the siren and that just happens to be when it goes off? Almost as if the siren was getting upset about invaded space. Great video.

hahaha so true! That's what he gets for giving me weird looks. I just set the camera on top of my car and he drove past me and looked at me like what the heck are you doing? Little did he know he was gonna get 127 db screamed into his ear in 2 minutes

I'm going to put it on youtube so it gets more hits

Wow! That siren sounds EXACTLY like the Allertor behind my house. It went off as well today, and those things sound really creepy in Attack.

Really? Because most Allertors I've heard are dual-tone, although I think some are single-tone. Let me tell you though...I was naive and didn't bring any hearing protection and it definitely rattled my eardrums. I rolled up the windows in my car and it still hurt! They're so loud. I can't imagine standing next to a P50 when it goes off!

That was great! And it served the lawnmower operator right for looking at you like that. I had the same thing happen when I filmed my West Allis P-50 video. A guy parked close to me and gave me very suspicious looks as he put on rollerblades. He began heading towards a bike path, the entrance to which was a lot closer to the siren than I'd want to be. Just as he got there, the siren fired up and he covered his ears and skated away as fast as he could. It's always funny to see people who scoff at our hobby learn respect for sirens the hard way. :)
