What cities or counties use attack for tornado warnings?

Tue Dec 02, 2008 4:16 pm

I am trying to change my cities siren policy so that they sound attack for tornado warnings instead of alert for both severe thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings. I need to know what other cities use attack for tornado warnings. If any one has any information that would be great . you may either post it here or send me an E-Mail at [email protected]

Macon, GA uses wail/attack for tornado warnings. I'm not sure if they sound for severe storm warnings anymore, though. I think Perry, GA still uses wail for tornado warnings, or at least they used to. They definitely use alert for severe storm warnings.

I think my town uses Attack for Tornado Warnings, but it's been at least 5 years since we've gotten a tornado warning that they sounded for.

Once the 2t22 is installed the city of Rhine, GA will be using attack for tornado warnings. We haven't found a use for alert yet.

Doesn't Hamilton County, OH run their sirens on attack mode for a warning?

Potter and Randall Counties which include the city of Amarillo use only alert for tornado/storm warnings. Wish they would do the attack though. Bet it would sound cool with all the different types of sirens here.

A Whelen Vortex in my city sounds in attack, but that may be the only one that does. All I hear is that one and two FS 2001s in alert.
The sniper rifle. For when you want to reach out and touch someone. Like blow their head off.

What cities or counties use attack for tornado warnings?

Brentwood, TN (N Williamson County) uses attack for tornado warnings.

There's a 2001 atop the Municipal Buidling which is just a few buildings from the one where I work.

I formerly worked in area of the building where the siren could be heard clearly. It always sounded attack for tornado warnings.

Area where I work now probably couldn't hear the siren because there are so many interior walls between us and it. There's also a building taller than ours in the way. My former area was in part of building away from that taller one.

One evening last fall I was leaving work when the sirens sounded. I recognized the sound immediately and got back inside the building until the warning expired!

Tuscaloosa County, AL uses attack during a tornado warning in which a funnel has been spotted or a tornado is on the ground..... alert is used for most warnings though.
