Some random pics from WV.

Wed Mar 18, 2009 4:25 am

I went to New River Gorge for spring break this year to go camping and see the bridge. I took very few pics of sirens there and along the way, but here are couple of the interesting ones, along with some interesting finds.

The much-talked about Werden P-127 near Dayton, OH.

An SD-10 in Miamisburg, OH.

Eclipse 8 in Fayetteville, WV.

Mars? Fayetteville, WV.

The stoplights are arranged in a rather strange way here. I don't really understand why they don't do the "birdhouse" style like the rest of the states around here.

Gotta love those white trash Sunocos

A very interesting license plate. Yes, a Black man was driving this.

Here is a link to a panoramic pic I took of the New River Gorge Bridge.

Where exactly is that P-127 near Dayton? I'm going to a concert up in Xenia on Friday and can add a stop for some P-127 pics if it's not too far out of the way :)

That particular P-127 is in Englewood along I-70, about a half mile east of the Hoke Rd. exit. Englewood has a system of 3 Werden P-127s all located at sites with existing backup generators.

Are there any visual differences of the Werden P-127? I think I see a different logo on it, but that's all I can tell.

Cool siren pictures, didn't one of our members live in Fayetteville and they had a system of Sentry's?
Around here, we have some bird house lights, but most are being replaced by these ones where there are 4 lights and while the top 3 are regular O lights, the bottom one is an LED Arrow, and changes from green to yellow. Example:
Image In Lawrence Ks, they add a flashing yellow to the bottom of the arrow lights to indicate you can turn after yielding.

Funny License Platte.
Awesome picture of the bridge, man that thing looks Hiigghh.

Speaking of Fayetteville, TN's Sentry sirens, here's a photo I took on the way down to pick up my sirens:

The Eclipse8 is actually in Fayetteville, West Virginia, not Fayetteville, Tennessee.

Oh whoops. My bad. Sorry about that, I wasn't quite sure which Fayetteville you guys were talking about, yet I should have known, since this topic is about West Virginia.

Unfortunately, Englewood is too far out of the way to justify a side trip. What about that SD-10? Miamisburg is also out of the way, but that might be doable if it's not too far off the freeway.

In regards to what Lawrence KS has:

That is quite possibly the most dangerous to out-of-area-driver setup I have ever seen. Not to mention excessive. Everyone already knows what a standing green is and how to use it. Why complicate it with more lights and patterns when what the rest of America uses works just as well?
